October 22

On our last day in London I decided to walk to St. Paul's Cathedral since we had until 3:30pm before we head to Heathrow.  It was raining off and on but I did have an umbrella.  It was like being at home weather-wise.  It was about an hour and a half round trip but I'm glad I saw it.  I wish I could have gone inside for a tour but you can't do everything,  I met mom at the hotel and we went to an old English pub for lunch,  We both had roast beef with yorkshire pudding and it was pretty good.  So....in summary, I was able to try English fish n chips, Indian food & finally roast beef w/yorkshire pudding.  That was the goal. haha

We got to the airport and I decided to get mom a wheelchair since she can only go about 1/2 a block without feeling a lot of pain in her hip and leg.  I told her to wait with our bags while I went and got one. When I came back with the wheelchair I noticed she was standing under a sign that was very appropriate for how I was feeling at the time (see picture).  When I showed her the picture, she giggled.  Thank goodness she has a good sense of humour.  Let me just say....she LOOOOVED being pushed around in a wheelchair, pointing with her cane where she wanted to go. haha Good thing we did that since you have to walk quite a bit to get to your gate.  I'm really glad we decided to stay in London for 3 nights.  I like London and would like to come back and stay longer.
The weather was dark, dreary and rainy.  Just what you expect in London.  That building is the Rosewood Hotel.

Bicycles to rent.  Great idea for London & every other city in the world.

Finally, I reach St. Paul's Cathedral

I'm standing in Warwick Square.  I am still behind the Cathedral

The monument in front of  St. Paul's.  Someone left a bottle of juice for one of the statues

St. Paul's Cathedral

Archway back into Warwick Square

Some other church on the way back to the hotel.  It's so dark out but it's only 2pm.

English pub.

Is it called Cittie of Yorke, Dorke or Porke?  You decide.

From Here to Eternity - The Musical.   haha  I'd love to see the beach love scene..

Inside the Imperial Pub where we had our last meal in London

In Vancouver you pay extra for salad.  In London you pay extra for chips.

Roast beef w/yorkshire pudding.  You get roasted potatoes AND mashed potatoes.

Went upstairs to use the washroom.  This is the tile on the floor with dirt underneath.  haha

The English call it 'Drink Driving'.

The outside of the pub

Interesting building structure

Riding to the airport.  Can you believe she's 81?

See the sign at the top?........ Exactly!
